Trail passes are required for motorized vehicles, e- bikes, and mountain bikes to ride on these trails.
The cost of passes is: $5 for a day pass and $30 for an annual pass.
The trail passes can be purchased at the Uwharrie District Office or at several vendors/stores around the Uwharrie National Forest. Vendors List below:

TROY, N.C., April 28, 2024 — The National Forests in North Carolina urge visitors to use extra caution following a recent coyote attack on the Uwharrie National Forest.
The isolated incident occurred early in the morning on April 27 on the Uwharrie Trail near Big Island Creek. Two individuals received minor injuries during the incident, and Forest Service and state officials are working together to locate the coyote involved.
Encountering coyotes and other wildlife can be a common occurrence when visiting the Uwharrie National Forest, and the results can be unpredictable. For both personal safety and for the protection of wildlife, visitors should follow these basic steps:
Know before you go—contact the District Ranger’s office (open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) or visit the National Forests in North Carolina’s webpage (www.fs.usda.gov/nfsnc) for the latest alerts and safety information.
Never approach any wildlife, when in the forest. If an animal appears to be in distress, contact the District Ranger’s office or county animal control.
When camping, make sure to secure all food and trash to avoid attracting wildlife. Prepare food at least 100 yards away from sleeping areas.
If you are injured during an unintentional encounter with wildlife, seek immediate medical attention.

For those who haven't been informed, I am expecting a group of acquaintances to attend more or less "loosely". There are prospectively three of them - Ben, Chris, and Will - and if my past experiences with them is to be applied predictively, they will likely not stay with our group for long, and might engage in the other activities and attractions available.
I'm going to say that they will not be camping with us; I told their coordinator that we have space for 10 rigs and my two put us at max. They prefer campgrounds or the abominable AirBNB's (or however it's spelled) any way.

Hey! I'm going to plan on coming out and joining in. May not be able to stay the whole time but definitely get a couple days in. I've mostly just been hitting Horse pasture rd so will be nice to try new trails.
