Update on Utah, not much to do but drive around on dirt roads, feral horses stand in said roads forcing you to look at them, the weather has been horrendously mild

Let me guess, the horses in that desert have no names.

I should be there around 0830.

Thanks to everyone who came today. Always nice to meet new people.

Like the location, but seems to be much more junk being dumped there.

So, we can “own it” and leave it better than we found it, or may need to find a new place. Little concerned about tires on the drive out.

Thoughts?

*update*
Did some thinking about this. Although it's a pretty cool location, the amount of trash makes it mostly unfriendly to, not just tires, but pets, kids, other family members, etc. Thus, unless there's major objections, I'm going to change it to San Gabriel Park in Georgetown for a few reasons.
  • It's easy to access for everyone, so more people may be willing to show up.
  • With shade, bathrooms, playgrounds, shelters, grills, access to local food places, etc., it's a more family friendly environment which may also entice others who haven't shown up before because the family wants to come along.
  • Now that we have a south Austin meet up established, we can move ours to be more centrally located between Austin and Waco
  • It's much quieter than Old Settlers, so it should be easier to find a spot we can claim for ourselves for a short time.
  • Being in a location that's not hidden to the public, this could provide opportunities for others to stop by and find out what we are all about.
I'll make the changes in a week or two, so keep an eye out and spread the word.
~Mike

I agree we need to do a clean up, but if it keeps getting trashed each time, might need to look into something else.
How about everyone keep an eye out as they travel around for possible locations?

Thank you
You are welcome. Glad to see another Texas small town person. Apparently, Blum beats Weir by 6 folks.:tearsofjoy: FYI - It's a bit of a drive, but if you're up for it, our next meet up is in Georgetown on Sat, Sep 3.
