DIY Scottle

Thought I would give the DIY scottle a try. I picked up the discadda on eBay. 17.5” for $38 and used a cheap ozaktrail burner from Walmart for $25. The other parts mainly came from Lowes. The couplers for the telescoping legs I got online for $10 each. Going to either sew a storage bag from canvas sea bags of order one. I went with the platform vice welding straight to the disc to be able to use the burner for other things.

I see it as a more shallow wok. History in the west is that it was made from old plow discs to cook on. Traditional woks have much more of a bowl to it.

Also, where did the burner plate come from? Is that a discada accessory? Looks commercial... Nice!
Found the disc on eBay and the burner was an ozark trail from Walmart. I made the disc it’s mounted to from some sheet metal and welded the conduit to it.
