Sorry, I need to vent..Jeep wave..

Over the years I had several jeep wavers tell me you only wave at ragtop jeeps not metal tops. Found it odd, but there logic was a real jeep has a removable top.

This has always been my understand too. Dating back to WWII when the open top Jeep drivers, driving their commanders around would wave to one another.

I got three waves today. All from stock JKs. Two were across a median driving the opposite direction and waved and one honked at me twice and waved while I sat at a stoplight.

I love how some consider people who drive JKs elitist. The Jeep wave started with Wranglers, if I initiate a Jeep wave it's to another Wrangler, plan and simple. If I get a wave from someone else, I'll wave back, and if I see a rig I like, I'll wave at them too. However I wouldn't wave to a normal XJ, WJ, WK, etc.. even if they have a lift, etc. They're not part of the "Jeep" wave.

Whoot! There it is!

Funny post! I've got a WK and I never get a wave except from people local to the roads I drive in the middle of nowhere! I know someone who has a 4-door Wrangler. He gets and gives waves only to other Wrangler-type Jeeps. He considers other jeeps to be inferior.

He sent me a pic of a couple guys in a Wrangler in mud and both were looking back off to the side. Caption read, "Who's the idiot who brought the Grand Cherokee?" I wrote back with a revised caption, "Oh, sh!t! It's a HEMI!"
