Are there still any of y'all around!
I have struggled with 4x4 vehicles and the cost of maintenance on my fixed income. I recently got a deal on a 1998 Chevy Tracker and it's in the yard. I'm working with my mechanics in St John's AZ to work out the kinks. We already got new AT tires and installed a spring lift kit.

I hope to get some real overlanding in - like home base being Off-grid on 7 miles of dirt (and seasonally mud) isn't overlanding!

My goal is to be ready for my April GTG in the general White Mountains Area of Arizona and for volunteering and teaching at OE West in May!

I have a buddy that beat the heck out of a Tracker for years and years in the Sierras. He loved it, and swore by the thing! I also know somebody that SAS'ed one which made it a pretty legit *hardcore* wheeler. The biggest drawback is going to be the lack of room for gear, and the need to keep your gear light - but that's not always a bad thing.
