Having just returned from our trip through France, Spain, Portugal and Morroco I'm eager to get ready for our next trip. We plan to head to the Artic circle in Norway and possibly across the border into Russia, hoping to see the Northern Lights.
We are planning on late Jan/early Feb for 3 weeks or so and will likely stay in cabins but will also be camping. I normally use an alcohol heater or an open fire in our Lavvu/Tipi but they are only really suitable down to around -10C / 14F and it's likely to be much colder so I'm in the market for a wood burning stove. I'm looking for suggestions.
Not looking for anything that needs to much assembly but I like things that are well made and will last. Most of the stuff available in the UK seems to mass produced and I prefer to buy hand built from smaller specialists.
So well built, all needs to pack into the main stove as much as possible and efficient as the nights will be long.

I'm really into the Orland Stove at the moment. Getting both heat and light from the stove is a real winner.

I guess the glass could be a weak point but it does come in a decent box, not sure if the flue fits in too.

Also has the advantage of a decent rear-exit flue with double-wall section, so no need for a stove jack or messing about poking great lengths of flue pipe through the tipi cap. There is an oven accessory too.

Priceybut high quality by the looks of it. Likely to be my next big investment.

That's a nice looking Tent/stove setup. Very cozy.

I know this is an old thread but I've been researching wood stoves myself and came across a few I think should go here. Maybe we can continue with this thread since having a wood burning heat source and cooking source that is tent friendly is pretty cool! I'm thinking of getting the Annex to my RTT and getting one of these smaller wood burning camp stoves that I can have in the annex and heat the whole tent. Right now I think I'm leaning towards the Winnerwell Nomad Medium, like all the accessories for it and the option to cook over an open flame.

Look at any ship/boat supplier. no assembly, tiny but maybe a bit heavy. The UK has many builders of these. Some have ovens too.

The HOBBIT is pretty tiny. Most tiny stoves have a short burn time and a tiny firebox so you'll likely be refueling it often. Built in the UK
Heres one I installed a few years ago, this is what i do for a living.

The next choice would be a wall tent tin stove. Incredibly light but still not at all efficient even with the bigger firebox you'll likely only get a 4 hour burn. These are acdime a dozen in north America. Not sure about Europe.

Hey,

Don't have one myself but it seems one of the better, lightweight and easy to setup stoves!
Gstove - Greatness in the outdoors

If you want to see it in action check out TAoutdoors on youtube ( )
(he used to have a discount code on it. maybe still, don't know)
He uses it in his lavvu as well.

Good luck!
