I've got some holiday travel to do and I've got some choices about how to do it. My parents are between Placerville and Tahoe. My wife's are south of Portland. I was considering seeing my folks and then taking a more eastern route into Oregon. Problem is I don't know anything about the area really. I've seen some snow maps online but are there any trip planning tools that take into account weather conditions? It looks pretty sparse to me and I know the weather can get pretty serious during the right time of year.
