I decided to drive up to one of my favourite hidden destinations in the Kawarthas today, and this time of year the access road into The Gut Conservation Area isn't vehicle friendly. When the winter road ends, that is where the backcountry skis come into play. The snow was deep, crunchy and icy. It definitely was an interesting ski down the hills and going back out was a great workout.

The waterfall was completely hidden under all that snow. An absolutely a beautiful location.

Where did you go this weekend?IMG_20190218_160252-01.jpegIMG_20190218_161202-01.jpegIMG_20190218_162952-01.jpegIMG_20190218_163000-01.jpegIMG_20190218_163003-01.jpegIMG_20190218_163011-01.jpegIMG_20190218_171152-01.jpegIMG_20190218_171157-01.jpegIMG_20190218_171201-01.jpegIMG_20190218_171956-01.jpegIMG_20190218_172334-01.jpegIMG_20190218_172623-01.jpegIMG_20190218_174529-01.jpegIMG_20190218_180110-01.jpeg

Nice. I'm planning to get back in to cross country skiing this winter. The start of the closest trail is about three blocks from work, so evening trips should be an easy thing when I ca't get away for a day trip.
