New to overland bound, been wanting to do this as a hobby. want to know what vic makes a overland rig.
I am looking at 3rd gen 4 runners and X terras and possibly pathfinder. I'm from Washington but currently stationed in Camp Lejeune. Needs some recommendations. Thanks

Hello and welcome to the OB crew....thank you for your service and your sacrifice. All three choices are great vehicles for overland adventures. It really comes down to personal preference and what do you want your rig to do. You can outfit any rig. Someone here has and will as you will see. Go to vehicle build thread. Get ideas. Good luck on your choice.

US what you got right now and go! in fact do a couple trips, decide what type overlanding your gonna do (graded trails, rock crawling, mud wompin whatever) and get the vehicle for your type overlanding...Definitely wait for a deal, either cash or pre approved credit gives you tons of negotiating power......

Looking at the build thread is an excellent idea.

Welcome, ask tons of questions, most of all, get out and go

this is probably one of the most loaded question you could ask and the answer has so many factors involved it's scary . but this might help you out a little .

how many people
how much gear do you plan to bring
how far do you plan on traveling
your body type and size will have a lot to do with what will be comfortable to you
what kind of terrain do you plan on encountering
is it a dd or a weekend rig
what can you fix on your own
what's your budget .

get yourself a big ol piece of paper and start writing out all your needs and then start writing out all the pros and cons of certain vehicles , compare the two list and then you have a good starting point of vehicles to check out and test drive .
