25 Ram 2500 Big Bertha.jpg
2025 Ram 2500, 6.7 Cummins, 4x4, 6" lift, 35" Toyo Open Country M/T shoes. This is the current foundation of my build. Big Bertha is my daily, my work rig, my overland rig, and ranch GP use rig. I'm excited to get back into overlanding as we have been out of the scene for the last five years. This was Big Bertha's first trip to the TX coast (Mustang Island) a couple weeks ago.

Nice! Being thats it’s a GP use rig, what’s your vision? RTT, camper, decked or trailer? Looking forward to a build thread as you process all the ideas!

Biggest hurdle I have with throwing a camper on it is the fact I'm always using the bed for something. Will probably have to go the trailer route. The weekend we took it to the coast we took the wife's Gladiator, too. Tarp strung between the two vehicles for an in place shade structure with all the camp essentials underneath. Its what we used to do when we both had Jeeps. Would string hammocks to the roll bars and sleep in the open air. This is my first time having something other than a Jeep to use, so it's a new-ish experience for me.

I wrestled with similar decisions. I don’t have the need for using the bed for utility but I did make my system modular so it can be removed in a day. 6 sections with quick disconnects and the cap!
I almost went with building something like the decked system but it evolved in my 10 month build! Overall happy with the full sized rig! I like having my tools with me since I drive a ford
