Looks like we will be going to this one again this year. We have a friend flying in from Australia to talk about his adventures in South America.

If anybody is thinking of going it would be great to meet up.

Can you bring you own hounds
Yep! From their website;

“Dogs

If you'd like to bring your dog along to the event we'll have a special area set aside for you to camp in. You'll need to ensure your pet remains on a lead at all times and doesn't damage or foul the site (or pee on someone else's tent!) Owners of noisy or aggressive dogs may be asked to leave.”

Hi All,

I've just received this latest update.

#HUBBUK 2019: The Perfect Moto Microadventure!
Adventures come in all sizes. Explore your own country with fresh eyes or visit other distant places. It's all about just getting started. Join us at HUBBUK 2019 - it's the perfect moto microadventure to start taking small steps when you have big ideas.
We're almost two months away from a uniquely inspiring and informative weekend. Team HUBBUK Caroline, Conan, Johanne, and Fern have been working hard to get things set up and it's all coming together nicely! How's your HUBBUK packing list coming along? Getting antsy to test new gear out with us? Bring it along to show off to others. You never know if someone newer to adventure traveling would like to talk to you about it and see how it performs during the event.
Forward this message to friends as an invitation for HU inspiration, information, and connection. If you're newer to motorcycle travel, invite some friends to join you and start the learning "journey" together. Take advantage of advance online registration with the best savings before June 6th.
Advance online registration makes life easy!

Presentations & Workshops - So Far...

"Full of very inspiring people who got me fired up again and motivated for my next trip!"
Maria and Alistair Robinson

Maria and Alistair Robinson, Franglais Riders
Tales and high-value logistical tips from travels to the far east (Russia and central Asia) and far south (Namibia and beyond to southern Africa), including bike shipping to Cape Town, tantalizing back roads, insurance, and border crossings.
Dan Godzisz, bikepacking in Iceland

Dan Godzisz
Two very different cycling adventures: one on asphalt across the U.K. and France with fine dining and comfy beds at day's end; the other bikepacking through the stunning remoteness of southwestern Iceland in the spring. Relying solely on leg power to cover the kind of mileage commands respect.

Gavin Bowen, International Gipsie
Building your own expedition vehicle takes ingenuity, creativity, and basic know-how. "Shiny Object Syndrome" doesn't serve you if you can't fix or maintain your vehicle and equipment, especially for long-term explorations in the middle of nowhere. Building and kitting-out your own vehicle can save money if done right (for you.). Absorb Gavin's thoughts on the matter.

Roger Harrington, Bison Bushcraft & Wilderness Gathering
Slicing and cutting should happen only to things that are NOT you, other people, or things that should not be cut at all. Roger covers knife safety and usage in the wilderness and for adventures. While you're at it, go on a short foraging trek around the venue (you might be surprised at what you find) and learn how to build your own bucksaw to process firewood with minimal kit.

Fern Hume and Ferdinand Pick, The Grand Idea
The "grand" RTW adventure is completely doable for mere mortals in two-week chunks. Explore the world one place at a time through the joys of the fly-ride: fly to a destination, rent bikes, and ride off the beaten track with very little pre-planning. Sound good? Fern and Ferdie feature three recent stints in Thailand, Morocco, and Peru... costing on average £1000 each!
Igor Chernikov and bike

Igor Chernikov
Participate in a practical and super-interactive session on the most horrendous bodges on the road, designed to make the MOT man and cops wince, but will get you out of the boondocks. Igor covers the 'best' methods to fix your machine and getting "psyched" for them. He or she with the Bodging State of Mind shall achieve true enlightenment.
Molly Aulino in Thai market

Kane Avellano
Criteria: Pre-determined route and allotted time. Goal: Achieve the Guinness World Record as the youngest person to circumnavigate the world. In hindsight, if Kane wrote down the steps to Guinness record-making, it would read better as: "How NOT to circumnavigate the world". Luckily, everything that went wrong turned out alright.
Simon Jarratt and the best of Corsica

Simon Jarratt
Simon insists on looking at the funnier side of travel, even if it goes haywire. He's had time to develop that humour after living almost 15 rewarding years like a sardine in a tin can (a.k.a. living a beautiful, affordable, and sustainable life in a T4 camper with a big garden). If he inspires you to start traveling or make life changes that allow for more travel, then mission accomplished!

Pedro Fernandes
"The best plan is to have no plan." What does one do after being deported from Australia with visa issues and find oneself back in Portugal? Ride east on a gloriously restored Africa Twin and be guided by the unpredictable nature of travel. It's what we dream of doing sometimes. Pedro highlights his experiences.

Patricia and Pete Etheridge
India in a Landcruiser? Absolutely! On backroads? Nothing better! And take gorgeous photos. Patricia and Pete can't stop smiling from their "colourful, crazy" adventures from the Pakistan border to Sikkim and everything in-between.

... AND MANY, MANY OTHERS, INCLUDING: Sinnis Motorcycles with ride-outs, Canadians Isabelle and Terry Porter (South America), Gavin Seiler (Garmin GPS workshop... bring your laptop and GPS), John Nicholson (rode from New Zealand to U.K.), Gareth Jones (6-month solo around southern Africa on a Harley adventure bike), and Matt Bishop (RTW by scooter and sidecar). MORE PRESENTERS ARE STILL SIGNING UP. Could it be you?
Check the HUBBUK event page for the latest updates >>
