Nobody wants to, but seen it happen, BAM! gotta fix something inside the diff, well keep an empty gallon zip lock baggie in the glove box or elsewhere and when it's time to do the trail fix, put the baggie under where you open the diff cover and let your oil drain into the zip lock, seal it removing excess air, set aside, do repairs and when finished place baggie in the diff, seal cover.

Calm down, the baggie will be tore apart and your reoiled. Yes there are tons of baggie bits in the oil, nothing will harm the gears and such and when your home your going to cmplete repairs if need and at a min, change the oil anyway right?

A Hammer series driver friend shared this with me as he has done it a few times.......
