Hey y’all. I’m completely new to overlanding. I have a 2021 Kia Seltos and I was wondering what kind of tires you recommend me to get.
I don’t do hard off-roading stuff. I mostly drive to national parks and hike/camp with my wife. The stock tires haven’t given me any issues and I have yet to experience the transmission heating issues that some Seltos owners have experienced while doing some light off-roading.
With that in mind, I want to get tires that will be more suitable for muddy/dirty roads without really going soft roading.

Hope I can get some good recommendations to start building my Seltos z✌

Check out the Yokohama Geolander O15. A/T. We put a set of these on our Outback. My Wife really hates road noise so that was a big concern. Super quiet on the hard road, great for forest roads and mud. 99% of our driving is hard road. Nice aggressive look to them really sets the car off. Before these we had Michelin Defenders that don’t handle near as well as the Geolanders and are even quieter! It just wasn’t me, she noticed the better performance and less noise right away. Think tall, skinny pizza cutters. After years of going bigger, wider with lifts and more backspace I am back to the skinniest 31s I could find on 6.5" rims. Way smoother ride, went from 17mpg to 22mpg and they are rated to go 20% farther at 20% less money. Buy for the mieage guarantee. Buy for better fuel economy. Buy for a better ride. Buy to save money.
