Hey y'all! I figured its high time I started keeping track of what I'm doing to my JGC somewhere, and what better place than here! I've named the car the Sola Grand after my YouTube and Instagram pages, Sola Outdoors.
Vehicle: 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 (WK2)
Tires: 275/70R18 Cooper Discoverer A/T3
Wheels: Stock wheels on 1" spacers
Lift: Bilstein 5100s front set on the second height setting and a Rough Country 2.5" spacer lift in the front, stock Nivomat shocks in rear with 1.5" spacer
Skid plates: Mopar OE plates, not original to the car
Roof Rack: Custom built out of 1" EMT and a lot of patience
Roof Top Tent: Tuff Stuff Delta
CB Radio: Uniden Pro520XL mounted in the center console, 3' Firestik antenna with custom mount in fender well
Radio/Head Unit: Phoenix Automotive PX6 Android Head unit
Lights: Auxbeam pod lights for side lighting, Tuff Stuff 50" Light bar on order
Air Pump: Viair 300p
All in all, my plans for this rig are pretty simple: Over-complicate everything. My to-do list is below and for the most part is the order that I plan on doing everything. While a lot of this is ambitious, I am tech savvy enough that Louisiana recognizes me as an engineer for some reason.
1. Install front facing camera to use with the new head unit for an approach camera while wheeling
2. Build a Bluetooth-controlled light system that integrates with the head unit using widgets on the dash and control with my phone
3. Install a dual battery system with isolation
4. On board air system plumbed to air all 4 tires at once and once again controlled by my phone
5. Water storage with pump/ plumbing to help wash dishes
6. Drawer/slide system for organizing
7. Rock Sliders
8. Winch and DIY Bumpers!
First photo is how it looked when I bought it in 2018 (minus the kayaks) and the second one is from a couple weeks ago. Just a little different, I think. Might help that I got a better camera, too.
