Howdy! I own a 1999 F250 Super Duty with the 7.3L Powerstroke.

I am looking to build out my truck to be capable of moderate overlanding.

What would be a trusted and worth the investment suspension for a rig as big and heavy as mine for this purpose?

I haven't had a ton of luck looking for suggestions because there don't seem to be many of my kind of truck used for this.

Thanks!

How much lift are you looking at going for?

4" BDS

Bushwacker Cutout flares if you want more than 36" tires.

Only a mild 4" lift is ever needed for SD's.

I can not be much help on 4x4 suspension kits. Our 99 is custom built with an 07 F350 front axle and suspension conversion front the stock 2WD.

I went with an ICON 4.5" 07 lift which put the truck at 1" higher than the 2WD 6" lift had been. So far the 07 4.5" 4x4 lift has been fine, just have to watch the rocks on the diff.

Our trucks make great Overlanding rigs, just have to watch those tight trails in the trees. We drove ours down in Baja and up the Pacific side 300 miles off road as a 2WD.

Our truck is at about 8500 lbs all the time now with the rear bed drawers and what stays in them. And what stays on the roof rack.

We probably add another 150 or more lbs with food, water and stuff when we go out.

Drawer system new not filled up.
