2 weeks in September (if the world still exists)
I've never driven out west except for the time I rented a motorcycle in Vegas and rode from Lake Meade to Valley of Fire.
The wife wants to make it a nice split of RTTfriendly Campgrounds, BLM, & has a yurt or something reserved in Yosemite. Hitting a hotel somewhere in there for her sanity.
Hoping to knock out from St. Louis to somewhere between Amarillo and Albuquerqe the first night and just push on through to the Grand Canyon to camp the next night.
From the Grand Canyon, we're headed to Joshua Tree before heading up to Sequioa and then Yosemite. From Yosemite we plan on hightailing it back the northern route to hit Moab and Arches on the way back. Then lots of boring driving through Kansas and Missouri until we are home.
Ambitious yes. This was the alternative since our Euro trip was cancelled earlier this year.
Any tips or stops we should make are welcome.
