  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

5.7 hemi terminally wounded.
After some investigation, I found no compression in 6 of 8 cylinders.
Cylinder #1 valve seat flopping around on the valve. Valve made contact with the piston. On the bright side, my oldest son is going to take over the jeep, and I will start another project (fullsize)

Hemi's going to Hemi.

Junky engines, I'll bet the cam is wiped out on that cylinder too.

But you should see how bad GM LS's are on the inside, now. The once beacon of reliability, is built worse than a Chinese toy.

And today's diesels, haha. Minor repairs cost as much as an entire Hemi.
