Typo in title: It is am 02.
Hi. I am selling our ambulance. It’s a 2002, 7.3 motor, with 124,500 miles. We bought it last year to use as a family camper. It’s located in Middlebury, Vermont.
We have made several trips to NH and Maine to camp and take the kids to the beach. We have also been using to take our son to ride atvs. You can drive a full size atv right in. This would make a cool overland rig, work truck, towing rig, etc.
Oh...I hVe removed the camping set up. It will fit a 3.2 cf fridge perfectly. You can see in the photo. The inside height is 5’10”.
The entire rear module is aluminum with stainless hardware. Everything inside the module is solid state. The cabinets are probably as nice as you can get. I told my wife if I had a unimog I would take the module off the ambo and put it on there. It should last forever.
It is set up for both ac and dc power. It has shore power so you can plug in at a campsite. I installed a window ac unit in the back. It has front and rear heat and air, but only when the motor is running.
When we bought it it needed a heater core. I had Ford replace it. I also had the two alternators and three batteries replaced. The 7.3 runs great. I drove it everyday over the winter taking the kids to school. On the coldest of days it started a little slow, but I probably should have plugged it in.
The only bad I know of is the New England rust. The frame and components have rust. However, it did not cause any concerns when being inspected. It passed everything with no issues. It’s currently registered through August.
All of the maintenance has been performed at the local Ford dealer since new as it was owned by the Bristol Fire Department one town over.
I forgot to mention the tires. They are in excellent condition. 5 are studded. One of the rear tires is not. I had a flat last year and had to replace on the road. Studs were not an option. It also has auto chains.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
$3900 or make an offer. Even though we like it, it’s just a little small for a family of four.
Chris
