  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance this week and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Hi everyone! Finally making a trip out to Sequoia! Haven't been back since I was a kid! Going for my birthday in mid-October, I have no reservations and of course everything is booked. Any ideas on first-come, first-serve sites? Or any other recommendations? Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Inyokern look up Fish Creek. Water is running great medow, some nice forest service roads to explore. BUT this is typically a camp site where off road motorcycles stay. It is off season for that now. During the week you should be fine, but come the weekend might be a different story. My experiences have been good with just some minor morning and late afternoon noise issues. From my door to campsite 3 hours and 10 mintues. Generlly an easy drive. Gas up at the Shell station off the 395 that is just before your left turn up 9 mile highway. PCT store should be open still. Access part of the PCT from Golden Trout seven miles below Fish Creek. Explore for camping at large areas. Look at campsites numbered in the twenties. I think 28 was the really good site.
