Shameless attempt at attention. But yes, on occasion we really do. If the going isn't tough enough to warrant one of our jeeps.
It's an '02, 1.9 TDI with about 2.5-3" of custom suspension lift and 3" oversize BFG KO2's. It's gotten us to some pretty amazing remote destinations before, even over some fairly rough tracks. And still manages 40-45mpg. During the week, the wife daily drives it to work.

When the trails get a bit tougher than I want to risk with my daily, I break out the ole workhorse XJ.
