US West Opinion on Joshua Tree wind this weekend?

  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Planning to camp at JTree this weekend, Fri-Sunday. Weather report says clear, no rain but it looks like it may be windy Friday night and calming down Sat/Sunday. Thoughts?

Everything I have been to josbua tree at least one day has been ruined by wind. There just isn't any shelter from it on trails. You might get lucky with a sheltered camp site in Indian cove.

If it is warm enough it might not be so bad, but when it is in the 50's or less, it pretty much just sucks.
