I'm getting ready for the shakedown excursion with my family (me, partner, 1.5 yr old) in our 2002 Trooper in a couple weeks. The Trooper doesn't have the newer style anchors for a car seat/booster base, and I figured I could use the belt in method without the base that our car seat instructions offer (it's a Nuna PIPA). I tried it out yesterday evening but the shoulder belt isn't long enough, and I don't feel the center lap belt offers enough safety to use. I've looked into belt extenders but these don't appear to be safe for use with car seats/boosters. I've spent some time searching the forums but haven't found much discussion on this issue.

I'm guessing I need to but another car seat that can make use of the older style car seat anchors that the Trooper has in the floor of the cargo area. But before I go that route I thought I'd ask and see if there were other solutions I haven't thought of for this problem in older rigs. TIA for your input!

Edit: For added context, the law requiring the rigid latch anchors didn't go into effect until 2003.
