We are just a bit north in Tn and we were thinking about heading down there possibly this afternoon. Does any one know what the current status is? Probably camp overnight if open.

Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I ran 105 south of Linville twice earlier this year. This is an easy route, you’ll probably pass some Hondas and VWs. If you’re gonna camp get there before Friday afternoon. Popular spot for weekend campers.
