So my family and I have decided to hit one of our overlanding bucket list type of adventure. Traveling From New Hampshire north into Canada. Main objective for us is to see the Northern Lights. Ive search online, including Overland Bound Threads.

Looking to see if anyone has done this in QB and locations to focus on.
This trip is something that's a year away and just starting on Route to take.

Kuujjuaq, QC, Canada is where I would like to get to or somewhere near by with camp options.

Suggestions and any Support info for recommendations would be helpful.

First off, the northern lights are latitude dependent and are extremely variable. Predicting where you can see them more than 24hrs in advance is impossible. The overall intensity varies in a cyclical manner which roughly follows an eleven year sun spot cycle. We are just coming out of the lowest point in the cycle. Your best bet is to get absolutely as far north as you can and find cloudless skies.

I have also been chasing the northern lights in Ontario for over 3 years now.

I have a similar app called aurora it gives me warnings for high kp index at dark sky preserves but, it is still very hard to see them.

If you want an almost certain chance you would need to head to some where like Tuktoyatuk in the Northwest Territories

in Kuujjuaq you are still below the boarderline for minor index like 0-1

there wont be much activity until it its at least a 5
