Anybody explored this area a little NW of Knoxville, TN? I've always gone to east TN and western NC but want to head out that way this weekend. Looks like there are quite a few FS roads in the area and public land on GAIA. Didn't know if anybody had some decent camp spots marked.

This is over a year old. But, I’m curious if you ever went. I am considering going to this area. It seems one needs a High Impact permit to camp in this area. However, I’m not sure how to get that or if it’s even worth it. Arriving in this area will be about as far as we can get on Day 1. If there are no decent places to disperse camp, I’d rather alter the route and head on a different vector. Thoughts? Note that I’m thinking the SW region and NOT the OHV region (Sandquist?) east of I-75.
