Question guys and ladies; does the outer ring screw need to be flush with the inner part where the antenna will make contact?

I’ve seen them in all manner of alignment and still work fine. Depending on the antenna, you might have to do some manual adjustment to the antenna center contact to get it to touch the NMO center button.
