The old Ferd was getting long in the tooth and the high mileage issues were starting to stack up(driver window regulator gear was stripping out, sunroof non functional, passenger front wheel hub assembly going, interior trim starting to crack, 160k on the clock...) So, knowing the impending high cost of parts to repair the work truck, I decided it was time for a replacement. I own a Tacoma that’s highly modified and is the play/new business platform. That nixes the idea of replacing the Ferd with a Tacoma(the preferred option) and forces me to look outside of the Toyota brand. I didn’t want another full-size truck. This limits me to a Frontier, Colorado/Canyon, Gladiator and Ranger. I went solid axle...
