  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

We headed out last week to see a friend of ours in Sacramento. We took the route out of Idaho heading through the Owyhees, across the bottom corner of Oregon, through Nevada, and into California through the Truckee/Tahoe area. This trip was mostly on the tarmac, but we always try to find areas to rock climb on our trip and that usually takes us off the beaten path. We climbed in the Bowman/Emeralds area east of Truckee before heading to Sacramento for a night and then out into Yosemite. We didn't have set plans for this trip and drove up Lee Vining Creek a way's until running into snow before turning back and finding an amazing campsite at a lower elevation. The following day we drove down to the Mammoth Lakes area to find some more climbing and took a side trip out a dirt road to the Inyo Craters. As you can see the climbing around Mammoth is impacted by this year's lingering snowpack. The first 15-20ft each climb was burried.

We also managed to stop in and pick up some Geolandars to go on the Canyon (thanks @JCWages).
