I’ve been meaning to do this for a while. There don’t seem to be many people building trailers that are also suitable for carrying dirt bikes. This trailer started life as a 5x8 utility trailer from Lowe’s. I upgraded to a 3500lb axle, flipped the axle under the leaf springs, sprayed the whole thing in truck bed liner, and put a larger wheel and tire setup on it. I finally built the overhead cargo rails for it last weekend using 1.5in square tubing and some mounting hardware from Lowe’s. Threw a Rola roof basket, a couple of kayak carriers, and my arb awning on it and VOILA! Super inexpensive overland/dirtbike/kayak trailer. I’ll take some more pics with everything all loaded up next time we go somewhere.
