Lost keys found keys...

2 1/2 years ago I lost my keys. I looked everywhere for them and figured they were somewhere in the garage. Well, I was right because I found them today in the bottom of the water softener tank when I was cleaning it out. I remember I was doing "stuff" in the garage when I realized I couldn't find my keys. I suspect I was putting salt in softener and probably had my keys in my shirt pocket and they fell into the tank. One of the keys was the mailbox key for my old house and it cost me $100 to have it replaced. I had a spare key for my Jeep but was always concerned I was now down to one key because it is chipped and another would have to be programmed. I never liked being in the backcountry without a spare. Now I have it back and all is right with the world.

Today, I tensioned my winch cable. In doing so, I had the opportunity to test out my spiffy new wireless Warn remote. Halfway through tensioning (my field of overgrown, laid down grass is only 50' so I had to back up at one point) I setup to tension the second half and realized I couldn't find the remote!!!

Now, I have the original, corded, trigger, but goshdarnitall I'm not losing the remote on my first pull!

I had to get out the metal detector...

Got back from Wasteland Weekend last week......

One case of rental car with "key has to be present but not inserted to start" lost.......after the car was started in the desert and driven into town, where the key was unaccounted for.

Multiple cases of rental car key losses.

One case of the keys to the rental RV and rental car were lost.......only to be found by someone a little more sober that the last person whom searched "that area" ("I never put keys there!") by people who flew in from Europe.

Lost keys were a constant hazard on the job when I was a valet.
