On the desert roads I have been on in Nevada, Arizona and Utah I seldom use 4wd and most of the time when I do it is a case of needing 4 low more than actually needing all 4 wheels driving. I will often shift into 4wd when in a group to help reduce the amount of dust or dirt I kick up. When I actually need it I might have it on for just a short section. With your lighter rig, lockers and air downed you should be fine at least 98% of the time...

Charles, I agree. I owned a 04 Trailblazer EXT and that was a beast! Loaded and comfortable, it was but eventually, I broke the transmission. Got something lighter and more tech power.
