Hello From Maryland

  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

New to the whole Overland/Expedition outdoor life and excited to start something new. (Know convincing the wife is a whole different thing.) But I think in time she might come around to it. Thanks for letting me learn from everyone!!

As far as getting a significant other into the overlanding life, make sure your trips are not all about you. Take her on shorter trips to start and make sure you always incorporate things she likes into the trips. If she wants a hotel night for every 2-3 nights in a tent then do it; trust me, it's worth doing. If you will be going anywhere near a site/landmark/store/whatever that she really wants to go to, then go to it. It doesn't take up that much time out of the trip. If she enjoys the things you are doing, and you are incorperating things that she likes (even if they are not outdoorsy) then she will at the very least not mind overlanding.
