Got a trip out west coming up in a couple of weeks, mid Sept. I've not decided on exactly where to go. We will be driving a Chevy ZR2 and pulling a
Off Grid Expedition 2.0, so rough roads should not be a problem.

So I've always wanted to visit Green River Lakes. Thought we might camp up there for a few days. I was also hoping to find a canoe rental in Pinedale
for a few days. Anyone have any ideas??

And how about flyfishing on the lakes?? Or the river itself?? Advice??

And in mid Sept, do we stand a chance on seeing any rutting elk?? Or is that elk country??

Should we camp at the lake or dispersed camping along the river before the lake??

I know, lots of ??'s. Any info appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Fremont lake just out of Pinedale is a great base camp. Green River Lakes is also a great spot with lots of free camping along the river headed up to the lake. The road is washboard for about 11 miles. The wind river range is awesome. I iive in Park City Utah so about 4 hours away. Driving into the Cirque of Towers is also a great trip with lots of places to camp. (Cirque of Towers is a 3 day backpack trip)
