Each October my wife’s pain slowly returns. By early January the pain confines her to bed nearly 18 hours a day. Then, as scheduling permits in late January she receives RFAs, C3 and C4. We continue to live here in Pennsylvania because of her doctor and Hershey Medical Center. This is all a result of an old injury from a bicycle accident when we were both very active and very young. Two days ago, we began hiking. In another month, the soreness from the procedure will be gone and we will get back to doing what we live doing together, Overlanding, camping, hiking, photography and all that this kind of lifestyle encompasses. In the meantime, you guys will all have to put up with me adding my 2 cents a little more often than maybe I should. Here is a photo of another hobby of mine and what I find myself enjoying more and more as I hunker down in my basement every winter. It brings the much needed solitude, it keeps me in the moment, and I find it to be very satisfying, we both wait to begin our adventures again in another month or two, whenever she is ready to roll E1ACD7ED-3F62-48F3-989B-EA01145AEECC.jpeg2F327AE3-6404-4348-A795-5551ADF3260C.jpeg

I’m sorry life has dealt you this situation your wife has to endure.
Getting old is not for the faint of heart. Misadventures of our youth often add complexity to that.
Very cool model. Is that HO scale?

Thanks & well, I often wonder what it must have been like for people enduring this kind of pain back in the 50s, 60s & even well into the 70s. Fortunately this is 2022 and pain management methods have come a very long way. All in all, she is doing quite well, for 9 mos out of the year. Yes, it is HO scale. I build the kits, rail cars and engines, modify, paint & weather them to the time period of 10/03/63.
