Department of Defense Lands

  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Hey Guys/Gals,

Planning my first ever overlanding trip in NorCal for late June. An area I am looking to stay in the Toiyabe NF is marked out on Gaia as DOD lands. Obviously this is Federal owned land and I'd assume there should be no restrictions outside of any other Federally owned lands. Even Google Earth shows a multitude of overlanders as I scroll. MVUM also shows roads throughout the area.

Anyone know if I'll be okay overnighting?

Thanks!

Some of the DoD lands are old bomb/artillery ranges. If the areas are marked to not go off the road/trail DON'T go off the trail.
