Death Valley

  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance this week and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

I've had a two week Death Valley trip planned for a little over a year now. I originally planned to go March/April 2020, but COVID messed that up.

I was on a cross country trip this year during that time frame.

Now I'm thinking about heading out this week and next. Am I crazy for going to DV this time of year?

I think it's not a great idea, but really have been wanting to do this trip and not sure I want to wait till fall.

In my opinion it would depend on what you want to be doing there. Drive through on a day visit? Today it is only 103. It is supposed to get to 110. I would not make plans for DV for a few months but that is me. I am currently looking for cooler trip ideas for myself. North and higher elevations.
