Here is a very helpful map of Southern Africa COVID-19 testing stations and borders that are open for leisure travel, courtesy of Tracks4Africa;

Hi Chris,

This is a really good source and overview! Thanks for sharing!

Friends of us are currently travelling in East Africa and the bordercrossings and paperwork re C19 seem to be very easy and well organized. So how is the overall situation? Can you please provide some information on site? Thanks.

Cheers, Björn

In Southern Africa it seems to be running smoothly. Testing stations and border posts ate fairly quiet other than normal commercial traffic. I think we can expect traffic to pick up over Christmas as migrant workers return home though. Will update if I hear of any significant changes

Just an update; the Lebombo-Komatiepoort (Mozambique - SA) border was closed for decontamination after a positive covid case. Subsequently the border post is now pretty much not moving;
