Darn, comments closed. I was going to say I like the mix. As a builder I like to see what the manufacturers are doing. Expedition Portal did this too. It was not an improvement, but they never moved the threads either.
And I guarantee it'll all get mixed up anyway as guys who buy a retail trailer start modding it and wonder..... where should I ask the question. Or as guys shopping wonder, can I change the axle.
A lot of the issues with retail models are the exact thing builders need to know. And as builders, without hearing about the retail issues we will likely repeat the mistake. I get more inspiration from manufacturers and retail trailer owners than I do from the few of us building our own.
