Hi OVF, curious if you wouldn’t mind sharing your radio setup. Antenna model, radio model. Thanks!
I have a Btech uv25x2 ham radio, the antenna is made by Comet, model is CA-2X4SRNMO and I also installed the optional spring. My other radio is a Midland CB, 75-822, antenna is made by Browning, model BR-140-B. The ham antenna is on the bull bar, the cb is on a fender mount.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing, I’m trying to run a similar setup on my 4Runner appreciate it! I’ve been looking at the comets and diamond antennas. Will take a close look at those radios you posted too.

And, sorry to derail your camping post. I won’t make it as I’m up in WA and have a wedding this weekend. Nice rig you got there!

If you're looking at ham radios, save up for a name brand one. I bought the Btech (Boafeng) as a starter radio but it freezes up all the time, and I have to unplug it to reboot it. Big waste of money in my eyes. When it works though it's good!

Will do! I’m looking at an ICOM, my Uncle is a long time ham and recommended a good one, I think it’s the 500 series.
