This is likely to be an evolving thread, but I went ahead and bought a bedslide for my truck (2018 Silverado 1500 Crew) with a no drill mount. Initial thoughts was well packaged for shipping, arrived via freight on a palate. Installation didn't take long at all though currently have some issues that I'm still waiting to hear back from the vendor about. The instructions are pretty vague though...

The inserts into the rails you use to screw/secure the cargo loops and the upper rails are all out of glass filled plastic, they IMHO (which I shared with the company) should be aluminum or stainless, as even threading one of the cargo loops just kept spinning, and im sure its not going to hold much. (I may need to design replacements as they say that's all they got.

The nylon pre-spacer on the deck side is just popriveted into place and if you accidently lay the deck on it will bend causing all sorts of issues (which you end up just using slip joint plyers to get back into place, mine even had to be shaved down a bit to get the deck on. (I shared with the vendor, this piece would hold up better if a bolt/nut was used instead of a pop rivet.

Currently the bedslide does slide... its not as smooth as I'd imagined, but im sure thats normal, the one issue I am sorting out is to get it to lock when rolled in, or rolled all the way out, you have to lift slightly to get it to engage, which imagine trying to do that with a load... the last vendor remark was " If you are having to lift the BEDSLIDE to get it to lock that would tell me a mounting bolt may not be fully fastened and the sliding frame is coming into contact with the head of the 5/15 mounting bolt. " to which I sent them pics (attached) so they could help me fix the issue hopefully, but have not heard back from them in a few days.

Right now, until the issues are solved, IMHO I'd not recommend the bedslide to a friend, nor would get the no-drill mount... So hopefully I either sort out the issues on my own or they provide me with assistance to make it better before I do.

It does "Work" just need some fine tuning or something....

Interesting. Our truck has (03 GMC Sierra) has one of the drilled versions, its been in there since new and its been great.

Would it be too much or possible to just drill into the bed? I can't see the no-drill version working or holding up to long term use. As it is ours is kind of a pain to get in and out already, but some of that is off-loading the weight to get the latch to disengage after it locks into position. Ours is VERY smooth rolling, even with 700lbs of tools on it and generally works very well... I find the knob is pretty hard to use a lot of the time, but thats a strength issue generally. We're looking into adding a slightly longer lever to get more leverage on it.

One of these days here I'm going to pull the plywood out and bedline it as well as getting the carrage bolts replaced and re-torqued because it makes a fair bit of noise off-road.

I'm hoping to hear back from Bedslide because their instructions are quite vague, enough to get it done, but leave you wondering if you did it right. I may drill into the bed, but the mount seems fine other than my issues, I may do that in the end but hoping to get a quick fix, likely involving me disassembling and reassembling again.

Thanks for the experience though! It's good to know others do not have issue, makes me feel slightly better at trying to fix it rather than toss it up on craigslist and say "screw it".

1) The replacement roller on the right, orig on the left... two of those taller ones were definatley too long (orig shipped) get get the slide in, that's about what I cut off the other side to get it to fit on the orig rollers, but they shipped me new replacements (right) with a bolt instead of a rivet.

2) I noticed under the bedslide itself, that this tab (which when fully in, I assume is there to keep the back end from lifiting up and off the frame when hitting bumps etc) there was slight marring of the edge that was not on the other side.

As well as the "lip" on the underneath of that replaced roller... I ended up taking a file and (I sure hope I'm not voiding any warranty, as I am trying to get this to work as intended) I filed down a bit of that lip, and less than a little bit of the tab on the underneath of the deck, and voila! It now slides in and locks without having to lift it up a bit... I'm not going to call this as the sucessful fix, until I have more miles with it, but it seems like either in the welding process things were not quite as square, or the tab on the underneath of the deck was not cut quite straight enough to clear the frame.

I'm sharing the findings with Bedslide as well...
