So for the easily more electrical knowledgeable than I; I want to connect a Battery Tender to my 06 H3's always drained battery. I also have aux lights, GMRS and CB radios connected to the battery. Should I disconnect this "stuff" while recharging or is it safe to leave them turned off but still connected to the battery. Yes; I know I need to also search what is draining my battery!!

It should be safe to charge with radios connected and off.

Finding a battery drain..

Turn off the ignition.
Disconnect the battery + cable

Connect a volt meter between the + cable and the battery + post

Ideally the voltage should be zero or close to it.

If it is the same as what the battery voltage is then you have a battery drain...

Now locating the drain...

Start pulling fuses while you are watching the volt meter when you pull a fuse and it goes to zero then you know what circuit the short is in...

Now you can start trouble shooting that circuit...

PS if you already know this method then disregard and hopefully it will help someone else...
