I know the weather is still crappy, and it's kind of short notice...

But would anyone be up for a quick trip to find a little piece of dirt that isn't covered in snow, or a completely muddy swamp?

I'll be testing new gear for my upcoming trip across Oregon, so if you don't think you have the gear for the weather, or just want to try out an RTT, I can make that happen :)

Let's get out, away from civilization and decompress a little!

Now... I have no idea where to go, and I'm down with traveling a bit to get there.

Who's up for some adventure!?

I'm thinking just going and checking out the status of Gifford Pinchot will be the way to go.

I kind of want to head out Friday night, though I'm sure I could find a good spot on the edge of the forest for a morning rally point before heading deeper into the forest.

I was thinking of seeing if it was possible to work down toward Mt. St. Helens...

If anyone has any interest in this for the weekend, let me know!

I'm tentatively thinking about heading out Friday night to get into the forest near Randle and find a spot for the night.

Rally with whoever shows up Friday night - Monday morning and then head south and see what I can find outside and around the National Monument. I have a couple spots that I want to look at, but my goal is to find a large-ish spot that could hold a small to mid sized group.

Set up camp for Saturday night and then decide the way out of the forest. (To be determined depending on how bad the roads are, and how many trees have to be cleared)

Last I knew NF-23 south out of Randle was still closed due to a nasty washout of the road the other year.
Officially closed or just closed unless you're crazy enough to go through it?

Thanks for the intel. I'll start looking for another way in.

Officially closed. Last I knew the entire road fell into the river.
Well then. I don't think that river is the one I want to test the water fording capabilities with... I think I'll find a backup route.

and 25 is closed for the season also...

I guess that means I either take the chance and drive out to NF-21, or go all the way south and come in through 68 and see how far I can get...

Any ideas would be great... The closed roads need to... be open.

I'm thinking it'll probably go south and see if I can get in from the south. Hit the south end of the BDR and see what it looks like.
