I've been putting off replacing the fuel pump to move fuel between my fuel tanks. Not because I didn't fancy the job just I wasn't really missing it however after ordering up all the parts I thought I would get it done.
So expecting a simple job, ack up on axle stands and remove rear wheel for easier access, 2 bolts and replace pump and fittings with a couple of new hoses, an hour maybe 2 at the most.
However an argumentative nut and bolt (nut would just turn on the bolt without unthreading) meant 6 hours later I was finally finished. Du to the location of the Fuel pump there was no access for a gringer ot nut splitter and using a cold chisel was the only option unless I removed the Aux Fuel Tank and associated hoses. Cold chisel did it in the end thankfully. As they say every 5 minute job on a Land Rover is only1 seized bolt away from an 8 hour challenge.
After clearing up it was time for a test drive and fill up the aux tank and move fuel and happy to say all good with no leaks.
On the test run I bumped into a French Overlander in their big Iveco truck.

The driveway challenge

The old pump, been in about 14 years so cant complain really.

Test run and a chance to stop and enjoy the view and chat to French Overlanders.
