So I got tired of getting out in the rain and getting wet to set up my tent and finally decided to do something about it.
I wanted to be able to just crawl in the back and go to sleep, if need be, and I wanted the platform low enough that I wouldn't hit my head on the ceiling if I sat up. I also wanted to make sure my gear in the back was easily accessible when needed.
So what I decided to do was to get 4 heavier duty storage totes from Sterilite and basically lay the platform on top of them.
Added to this was a drawer at the one end for added support, a middle support brace, and hinges to lay either side over for ease of access to gear. Then topped it off with two yoga mats and a 2" memory foam mattress. Cant wait to try it out. image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg image.jpegimage.jpeg

Nice job, this is the kind of thing I'm thinking about doing once I figure out which Subaru I'll be buying. Sadly I won't have the headroom as I'll probably be stuck with an Impreza but I love seeing these kinds of simple builds that can make all the difference.

Thanks Nodscene. I would be interested to see what you finally come up with on your Subaru..
