Yeah, there sure are a lot! I was looking at a map yesterday, and I didn't realize how many forests are north of here too. In Calif I've only gone to El Dorado Natl Forest, but then I see Plumas, Lassen, Shasta-Trinity up there..! Can't wait for a bit of warmer weather!

I think there's probably a lot of us on here that are "weekend warriors." I know I am. I'm not retired, so I can really only go out on the weekends. The last time I camped for more than a weekend was some 30-35 years ago when I went on a family vacation as a boy. I wouldn't mind the convenience...

Welcome Chief! I'm guessing you were an MR? What ships did you serve on? I left the service almost 15 years ago now, served on the Ike and the Saipan out of Norfolk, and the Rentz out of San Diego.

It does seem like it, except for the way way south areas. I just don't know what's out there, so hopefully I'll be able to find some areas on here! :)
