Hey sorry for the delayed response, I just spotted this! I built mine out of some 2x2 angle iron and some 3x3 square tubing.. The big thing that threw me off when I started building this is that our truck boxes are actually slightly tapered so the front of the box is wider than it is near the...

    Whats on your rack?

I just finished building a raised rack for the box of my Silverado to support my Rooftop Tent, not only does it give me much more access to the box of the truck, but it also raised the tent high enough to take advantage of the annex we got with it. I incorporated mounts on each side to attach...

    Speedmasters Traction Tracks

If there is anyone else on this side of the border looking to pick some up, eBay.ca will ship to Canada unlike the Amazon or Speedmasters sites. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Speedmaster-4WD-Recovery-Traction-Tracks-Sand-Mud-Snow-Off-Road-Pair-/172277705328?hash=item281c8d2a70:g:VlUAAOSwImRYPHxC

Ruby Falls/ Grave Flats staging area (Alberta)

This is a great spot with a bunch of great trails. You can camp at the staging area and do the trail and back in a day, or you can camp up at the falls and make a multi-day trip out of it! No motorized vehicles past the picnic area, so a small hike is required to reach the falls. Difficulty...

    Questions about dispersed camping

I generally look for areas that have some sign of prior use, be it as a camp site, or a rest area. If nothing like that is available I'll stick to a small clearing just off a main trail. As long as you respect the area you are using and leave it cleaner than you found it you shouldn't have many...

    What's in your trunk

Great idea for a thread! 1. (in no particular order) Camping hammock (you never know where you may want to set it up and relax), set of ratchet straps, tow strap and clevis' , Dunlop Purofort+ boots, pocket knife, lighters/firestarters, flashlight, as well an extra jacket, gloves and hat. 2.In...

    RTT Dumb question Alert...

The RTT's these days are so well designed and built that you barely notice the strong winds. Once you have your tent anchored to the rack on your truck/SUV it feels extremely solid. I barely notice the wind in my tent, while others in ground tents are constantly fixing their pegs/flys
