    Subaru Forester Build

I'm old and fat. Old means I have to go to the bathroom a couple of times a night. Fat means I have a hard time moving around tight spaces. Question? How hard is it for you to get in and out during the night. How do you do it? Thanks.

Fair winds and God's speed. I hope someone will provide progress reports for those of us that cannot make the trip (this time).

    Forrest bathing

Woody, Thanks for your reply. I was in policing for thirty years and private security for 15 years. Now I am an assistant nanny or nanny in waiting. My wife cares for my grandson while my son and his wife work. I help, hence I am an assistant. Forest bathing does indeed change perspectives...

Thank you. Armor would cost me ground clearance. Doing a lift is to compensate is a little outside my abilities right now. Good luck and God's Speed.

armyRN, question. What do you think about a stock Subaru Outback with AT tires making the trip? Any recommendations? Dennis

Thanks for your advice. I will be buying AT tires soon. I'll save the advice on Wildpeaks. I'm also considering a brush bumper and skid plate. I ride on forest roads near my home and my OB has never really strained itself. Ground clearance has been fine and I've never needed X mode even...

...but it's a Subaru Outback?! Build thread.

WaWa Skittletits, great thread. Thanks for sharing your mods. Your Subaru looks terrific. I have a 2017 that I bought new. The warranty is over so its time to make some mods and pursue a bucket list item doing the Trans America Trail. My thinking is start with tires, skid plate, and brush...

I have a 2017 Subaru Outback. I'll be buying some all terrain tires son. After that come a skid plate or an all steel engine under plate. I'll probably buy a brush guard after that. Id like to attend a rally event and look at mods other owners have made and talk with them about specifics...

    Subaru Forester Build

I like the ideas behind a Wilderness model. Id like to emulate them on my Outback to the extent that it makes sense financially. My Subbie is in great shape and I don't see me being able to purchase the Wilderness model anytime soon.

My Subaru Build: A Series of Compromises

I have an an Outback and am similarly situated. I love the car but I want to make it a little more trail worthy without compromising its dependability or longevity.
