    Camp Photos!

Metollius river in May in our Excursion overlander. We call her Large Marge for obvious reasons, but we should call her our Sherpa cuz Dang! she can hold a lot of stuff.

    Rafts for fishing?

From my response to another thread regarding inflatable boats: Out here in the Pacific Northwest we live by our Aluminum sleds and drift boats, but with most of my overlanding I find myself off grid, sometimes by several 10's of miles, so dragging a drifter or sled just isn't feasible. Being...

    Inflatable boats/boats

It weighs a 105lbs, or 47.5kg, so it is very manageable to load or unload from the rig or rope up or down a river bank. You can find their info on YouTube if you type in FlyCraft.

    Inflatable boats/boats

Out here in the Pacific Northwest we live by our Aluminum sleds and drift boats, but with most of my overlanding I find myself off grid, sometimes by several 10's of miles, so dragging a drifter or sled just isn't feasible. Being primarily a fly fisher these days, I set out to find a solid...

Rock sliders as a hi lift jack point?

Exactly why I had my rock sliders custom made and welded to my frame rails. My rig is a heavy ol' girl though, so I needed something I could count on to be solid. I have used the sliders for hi-lifts as well as tow points a time or two.

Advice On Battery Terminals With Multiple Connections

Wanderlost, I am running front and rear winches on my Excusrion that land on a single 300Amp bussbar with positive leads going to the battery from there. Then I run all other accessories like lights front/rear, solar panel interface, air compressor and all my charge ports off of this one BlueSea...

    New here! Eugene/springfield OR

Welcome GJ14, I am from the Eugene/Springfield area as well. You may have seen my Excursion around the area. Always willing to learn a new route or share my own with a OB member. While we may be too heavy and long for some of the jeep billy goat trails around the state, there has not been a...

Are you a day tripper, Weekender, Weeker, Full Timer?

At least once a month we go out for a three day weekend, and a few times a year we plan for a 7-10 day outing in our Excursion. While i identify as an overlander more than an offroad guy or trail guy, I find myself prepared to do either if the situation demands.

    Tablet mounting system

I use the Ram Mount tablet holder for my Samsung. I mounted the receiver ball on my dash with a little bias to the passenger side so my wife can change between the Ulysses HUD to the Backcountry Navigator apps easily, but for those solo trips I can still easily read everything that I need to...

    Overland Bound App

So there is yet hope. Excellent. I will be looking out for that app. Thanks for the info, Chris.

    Overland Bound App

Hmmm, gotcha. Thanks for the heads up. I already have access to the website/forums via tablet and phone, so an app doing pretty much the same thing as the website would be redundant for me. My rule of thumb for all Overland accessories is; must serve its purpose better, faster, or easier than...

    Overland Bound App

Just out looking for overland related apps and stumbled across the Overland Bound App. Can anyone give a brief overview of the app's features. Or is it simply this website on mobile? Would love to find an app that gives quick access to self recovery, maybe meal/trip planning, maps of those...

    Rear bumper winch

Yeah the license plate just pops out of the fair lead and the wireless winch controls allow winch use from a safe distance, or from the driver's seat. I went with the Smittybilt X20 (10,000 lb)winch with synthetic rope. These guys at HNC do a great job and make a quality product.

    Spare Tire Paradox

I can relate. While my situation was a little different, I initially wanted the spare out of the rear compartment for space considerations because we sleep in the back of our excursion and the spare impinged on that area. I upgraded tires and rims, and the 34's no longer fit in the original...

    On the Trail Cooking

If I am heading out into the deep backcountry and do not plan on stopping except for fuel, I will do up a half dozen burritos, individually wrap them in two sheets of aluminum foil and then wrap all six in another two sheets of foil, then onto the manifold they go. Pull one or two out as needed...
