I had the day wrong entirely. Showed up today (Sunday). Not sure how that got in my main calendar incorrectly. Glad you all had fun.

    Day trip

Like a day of wheeling on some trails? I'll put it on my calendar now. Hard to say if I can fit it in, but I'll sure try!

Wish I could join you, but that weekend is my main opportunity to write a final paper for a class I'm taking. Gotta be responsible and pass. Looking forward to seeing you folks post some trip photos later!

    CafeRoaster's '08 FJ Cruiser

I'd have to check, but I think I have mine set for about 12.2V as well. I only enable it occasionally. There have been at least a couple times when I probably should have turned it on, but didn't think to. Fortunately the rig was ok parked in those settings.

    CafeRoaster's '08 FJ Cruiser

Sweet rig! I second the recommendation of feeding the extra cable down an A pillar. That's pretty much what I did for my camera system on the Sequoia. As to the question about why the cameras, I got clipped by someone a couple years ago. Her insurer wouldn't cover the damage to my vehicle...

    Mounting your devices.

The company is called Quad Lock. They make mounts for cell phones for cars, motorcycles, and bicycles mostly. They match up to a cell phone case they sell for a variety of cell phones. They just added some mounting options that include the wireless charging ability that quite a few phones have...

    Mounting your devices.

I've been using a combination of RAM mounts, cheap Scosche magnetic mounts, and one vehicle specific mount for a while. The Scosche mount is fine for paved surfaces, but bumps in the road can mean my phone falls onto the console. Considering moving to the Quad Lock mounts that are magnetic, have...

    Beavertree Kitchen shakedown use

I got it some months back. Would you believe I got it for $20? The guy who I met didn't seem too happy about his wife listing it, but he agreed to the price she and I agreed upon.

    Beavertree Kitchen shakedown use

I looked at a few plans sets for making my own portable camp kitchen before I stumbled upon this Beavertree on my local craigslist. I haven't seen the Dosko Campmate before you mentioned it. Found some photos of it on an image search. Looks very similar in some respects. Here's the dimensions...

    Beavertree Kitchen shakedown use

Finally got an opportunity to put my Beavertree Kitchen camp kit to use today. Stopped for lunch outside Yellowstone NP. Realized I need to add a couple items for cleanup and maybe a P-38 can opener. We just did up a couple Mountain House meals for the family and it worked fine. GSI coolest...

    New-ish member from Spokane, WA

I've got a 2007 Sequoia (last year of the 1st generation). Haven't done a whole lot to it aside from decent tires and a front mount receiver hitch. It's been a good rig so far and I've helped people on the trail a few times with the limited recovery gear I have. At some point, I'll get my ham...
