Why do 40 amp relays have 12awg wire?!

I know relays have contacts, I'm referring to the harnesses. This is an example of 40amp relay with included harness using undersized wire. https://amzn.to/3ZYIakd

Why do 40 amp relays have 12awg wire?!

Some good info. Thank you guys. I guess going with over sized relay, and just soldering connections is the best option.

Why do 40 amp relays have 12awg wire?!

It just blows my mind that its so hard to find a relay with proper gauge wire. Its insane!

Why do 40 amp relays have 12awg wire?!

Ok, so that was my question. The pig tails, off the harness for a 40amp and even 80amp relay, are 12g wire. Even the leads going to the battery, and the load are 12g wire. I dont understand why the leads to battery and load, on a 40+ amp relay, are not 8g wire or bigger. This has me really...

Why do 40 amp relays have 12awg wire?!

Doesn't the relay go in-between the battery and the load? If the load is 40amps, shouldnt the relay have 8g wire to the battery, and to the load? Then I can use smaller wire to run into the truck for the actual switch

Why do 40 amp relays have 12awg wire?!

Im looking to add a 40amp relay to a 40amp circuit under the hood for so me lights, and every relay harness I find has pigtails with 12g wire. Shouldn't 40 amps require 8g wire? I've searched high and low and cannot find a way to attach 8g wire to a 40amp relay, short of soldering it straight to...

    Bushwacker Owners?

Keep in mind, this is an assembly line built, manufactured trailer. Quality control isnt the best, as you'll find with any RV, and you might find some minor things that need to be cleaned out, tightened ect. If your at least somewhat handy, you'll have no trouble working on it, modifying, or...

    Bushwacker Owners?

Yep ! Ive still got it, 2+ years and its still going strong. Ive made alot of modifications to it along the way, but its still a great trailer. Mine was one of the early models, so alot of the issues have been address in the later models like the HD. Ive got some vids on the tube, and pics and...

    What accessory Battery?

Called and talked to a rep with Vmax, to ask about charging the SLR125 with 100w of solar, vs the 200w their website suggest. Its a matter of fully recharging the battery to 100% between uses. They calculate 200w of solar is what is needed to top back off to 100%. He said there isnt a safety...

    What accessory Battery?

The teardrop is will probably draw around 10 amps. The vmax 125ah AGM would be plenty, I'm just concerned that Vmax website warns that I need 200w of solar to charge at 8amps, when I've only got 100w of solar with the teardrop. I really like Vmax but if they need more power to charge, maybe I...

    What accessory Battery?

I considered that, but don't have much room. I guess I could swap to a single 200w panel. I'm curious how much of a difference this actually makes on charging the battery. I'm going to try and contact Vmax and getore info.

    What accessory Battery?

Ive got an accessory battery in the bed of my truck, under a camper shell, that I use to power my fridge, cell phone booster, camp lights, and usb charging. Its a Vmax Tank 125ah AGM battery. I charge the battery with a 100w solar panel on top of my truck. I was going to purchase another for my...
